'It's 'Russian roulette'

(CNN) -- Pete Jackson attended his brother-in-law's funeral along with his daughter, Emily, six years ago. He never dreamed it would be the last day of his daughter's life.

"It's so tragic, just not something you would never, ever expect," said Pete Jackson.

Instead of going home to the Chicago suburb of Arlington Heights after the funeral, Emily Jackson, 18, spent the night with her cousins.

That night, she made a deadly decision. She took an Oxycontin -- a single prescription pill -- that her cousin offered to her while drinking. She went to sleep that night and never woke up. She died of respiratory depression -- she simply stopped breathing.

Ex-CIA chief Petraeus testifies

Washington (CNN) -- Former CIA Director David Petraeus testified on Capitol Hill on Friday that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, was an act of terrorism committed by al Qaeda-linked militants.

That's according to U.S. Rep. Peter King of New York, who spoke to reporters after the closed hearing, which lasted an hour and 20 minutes.

The account Petraeus gave was different from the description the Obama administration gave on September 14, King said.

Then, the attack was described as "spontaneous," the result of a protest against an anti-Muslim film that got out of control outside the compound.

King said that the word "spontaneous" was "minimized" during Petraeus' testimony Friday.

Fear, mourning, celebration in Gaza

Gaza City (CNN) -- A mix of explosions filled Gaza City's air late Thursday, but not all were blasts of war.

A celebration erupted as a mosque loudspeaker chant proclaimed: "God is great. We have hit Tel Aviv."

Rockets fired straight upward were not targeted at an enemy, but were aimed at raising spirits with claims that militant missiles launched from Gaza reached Israel's government center 45 miles (71 kilometers) away.

One Gaza-launched rocket landed just south of Tel Aviv Thursday, in an open area near Rishon LeZion, the Israel Defense Forces said.
