Comfort & Trust
Thank You
April 20, 2020
Jonathan* is six years old and has experienced far too many stressful things in his young life. As a result, he is rather shy and relies on his older brother, Aaron* to always be close at hand.
Aaron is the one who answered when Maria asked Jonathan if you liked tigers. "Yes, he does," answered his big brother. Although the family had only been in the program a few days Marcia hoped that Jonathan would soon begin to trust her, so she asked him if he could nod his head if he really did like tigers. He nodded, so she handed him the large stuffed tiger that had been sitting in her office. She explained to him that many children had admired the tiger, but that the tiger had chosen to go home with him. Jonathan was instructed to take good care of the animal and he left with a sweet smile and a new friend.
Later that afternoon, Jonathan had an emergency medical procedure which required him to spend the night in the hospital. Jonathan and his mom came to visit Marcia a few days later and told her how the tiger had stayed at the hospital with him and what a comfort it had been.
Your support of Vine Maple Place enables us to supply the families with those things which lead them towards hope, stability, and trust. Thank you.
